Care

Coat: The Lhasa has a beautiful coat which grows on the ground. It is also necessary to brush the Lhasa twice a week. I wash the dogs every two weeks with a good dog shampoo, wich I first dilute. Then pet dry, do not scrub with the towel or you'll get lots of tangles. Then with a special blow dryer , but with a regular hair dryer is also possible. I start by brushing the bottom of the legs and go layer by layer brush so  you can get all the tangles out. Of course there are many people who cut their Lhasa to a groomer. That  is a lot easier and less work.
This is a short cut Lhasa
The ears should also be cleaned and the hair in the ear are removed with fingers or forceps. This is to prevent them from getting ear infections.
We put elastics in the hair so it's not infront the eyes. This is only for the dogs who go to a show. Elastics are availeble at shows and orthodontists. You make with your comb separation and in the front part a elastic and than another one.
Cut the hair between the soles is also very important. I do this with a special pair of scissors.
Nails are cut with special pliers. This is a precise job because you cannot cut into life. You can also ask the vet during the vaccination or a groomer. When the Lhasa is running outsite it's not necessarry to cut the nails often.
